1.
Why choose
Seagull Travels? |
|
Mark
Twain was correct when he said
“Travel is fatal to prejudice,
bigotry, and narrow- mindedness.”
Indeed, travel is all that and much
more. Travelling not only teaches
you about other cultures, but it
also teaches you more about yourself
and your own culture. After all,
only from the outside can you look
back in. Where will your travels
take you and what will you see? At
Seagull, we believe in incorporating
our clients travel experience to our
belief that we are “Learning: All
Together”. Travelling with Seagull
is all about being open to
"Experience, Discover & Explore". |

2.
What are the benefits of using Seagull Travels
compared to the Internet? |
|
The
Internet can be a powerful tool. It
can increase the scope and reach of
a consumer's efforts and allow a
person to check hundreds of options
or research destinations in depth.
But to make the Internet work
effectively, a person has to
understand where to look and what
questions to ask, otherwise hours
can be wasted surfing the Web and
ultimately produce unsatisfactory
results. This is where a travel
agent can make a world of
difference.
Seagull
Travels is trained to guide a client
through the entire process of
planning a trip, whether for
business or for leisure. We take
classes, participate in seminars,
become destination specialists and
join professional associations, such
as NATA. TAAN, NMA in order to
ensure they make each client's
travel experience as personalized,
convenient and memorable as
possible. When planning
a business trip or family vacation,
the Internet can be a valuable
resource, but it cannot replace the
expertise and guidance of a travel
agent. Also, during travel crises,
the Internet can't replace a human
being who will persist to help a
client. Seagull Travels, meanwhile,
can offer a myriad of intermediate
options. |

3.
Is it better to do a tour or to travel
independently? |
|
Do you
head out on your own? Or do you join
a group? One isn't superior to the
other and one isn't more (or less)
expensive than the other.
Ultimately, this is a choice that’ll
come down to personal preference.
Travelling independently is a good
choice if you’re happy being by
yourself and you value a high degree
of flexibility and customization.
Group
trips can range from a few weeks to
a month. They offer in-depth
exploration and are led by our
experienced guides. These trips have
a set itinerary but usually
incorporate enough free time to do
things on your own. If you want less
hassle and want to let a
professional do the planning and
deal with all the particulars; you
value an experienced guide; you like
to be with people; your destination
is high risk; you want to pay for
most of your travel in advance –
then group travel is the choice for
you. |

4.
How fit do I have to be to do a Tour or Trek? |
|
It
depends on the type of trip you want
to take. Some trips, such as a trek
to Everest Base Camp are classified
as strenuous and should only be
undertaken by those with plenty of
hill walking experience and an above
average level of fitness. However,
the vast majority of Trekking and
Tours in Nepal are well within the
capability of any healthy individual
leading a normal, active life. |
|
5.
What is
the average age on a Tour? |
|
The age
of people that decide to do a Tour
or Trek can be varied. From late
20's to late 70's, people that do
these tours all share a sense of
adventure and wonder for the world
around them.
|
|
6.
What is the average group size on a tour? |
|
Seagull
Travels provide small group tours
(usually 5 to 15 people). Larger
group expeditions comprise of
usually 15 to 35 people. Small group
travel allows for flexibility and
informality and allows you to share
great company without crowding your
experience. But you can also opt for
the latter. |
|
7.
What VISA’s will I
need? |
|
Seagull
Travels can help you provide with
all information for visa
application. |

8.
What is the best way to take money with me? |
|
Cash,
travellers cheques, or credit cards…
that is the question! The safest way
to carry money with you is in the
form of travellers cheques; however,
many people have said they wished
they had brought more cash with them
because of the difficulty in cashing
travellers cheques in remote areas
etc. We recommend a combination of
the two – half cash and half
travellers cheques. The rapid
emergence of ATMs in Kathmandu means
that you can now withdraw money from
your saving, checking, Visa or
MasterCard accounts. We advise that
you do not rely solely on this form
of obtaining funds, as there will
not always be an ATM handy. |
